I was born in London on 10th January 1961,

When I was three years old, the family re-located to the Midlands where my father became a very successful restaurateur.

I was educated at Henley College.

Where I graduated with the Hotel & Catering Institute Management Association Diploma

I became a caterer by trade, following my father’s footsteps into the industry

in 1982.

The first 10 years in my career after graduating, was into event catering mainly in the world of sport starting as a Trainee Manager at Newmarket racecourse.

Other Iconic venues were covered including Ascot, Lords Cricket ground, Wembley Stadium and Arsenal Football Club.

In the second decade of my Career, I settled down into institutional Catering and my first brush in the city as Catering Manager for Farmers & Fletchers Hall in the early 90’s.

From 1993 to 1999, I was General Manager of Church House in Westminster which is the seat of the General Synod of the Church of England.

Then in 1999 to 2006, I was appointed General Manager of The Mansion House which is the residence of The Lord Mayor of the City of London.

2007- 2012 I accepted the offer from the Army & Navy Club to be their Operations Manager.

2012- 2014 I was Operations Manager for Life’s Kitchen overseeing the catering operation at Wax Chandlers, Pewterers Halls and Guildhall events.

In 2014 I retired from the industry and became the Beadle and Hall Manager for the Wax Chandlers Company.

I am a Liveryman of three companies. Butchers (1997), Poulters Renter

Warden (2026), & Cooks (2006).

Past Master of Lime Street Ward Club (2010-2011), Past Master of two City Livery Lodges and a member of The City of London Guild of Beadles, and The Guild of Freemen.

Within my trade, I am an Officer of The Ordre Du Coteaux de Champagne, Member of the Association Culinaire Francaise , The Conseil Culinaire de Grand Bretagne, The Reunion des Gastronomes, The Institute of Hospitality, and The Academy of Food & Wine.

In my present role as Beadle and Hall keeper with the Wax Chandlers and notably one of only two full time employees of the company, the other being the Clerk, I carry out all the ceremonial rolls for the Company, organising the company events within the hall and occasionally assist the City of London

Corporation at various private events.

I am the Facilities Manager for the hall, dealing with the tenants, contractors and commercial or private lettings of the rooms.

Overseeing and setting up of survey and maintenance projects with regards to the preservation of the hall, fittings and property, as well as the company property at Fleet Street.

I also dealt with initial applications with external Charities to see if they are acceptable under the criteria of the trusts set up by the company benefactors.

My Interests include: The City of London, Fine dining, Collecting Militaria. Member of The Army & Navy Club (The Rag).

I am Knight’s Commander of the Sovereign Military Order of the Fleur de Lys and a Knight of the Order of St James Altopacio.

I am ably supported by my wife Sue and my 2 boys Stephen (Poulters Liveryman) and James (City Freeman and Assist Beadle at Ironmongers Hall).
