Almoner to The City of London Beadles’ Guild

Beadle to The Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers.

Fellow of The Guild of Professional Toastmasters.

Relatively new to the alchemy that is Beadling; just three years. At nearly 67 I am part of the youth policy.

I was thrown into the role as Beadle at Distillers via a well-meaning friend; but I was quickly found out. John Cash and Ted Prior did their best to train me and now I have risen like a Pheonix from the ashes at Pattenmakers.

I now feel more than able to conduct myself properly in the role. In fact, this year I received the ‘Master’s Award’ for my efforts over the year.

In the real world I fitted out offices in the City of London, for forty years, but Covid put paid to that. I’m married with three grown up children and live in Sidcup.

My voice comes from being a Chorister and my authority comes from being a Rugby Union Referee for 10 years. Never for one minute did I think I’d end up doing this; I’m having a blast.
