A Freeman of the City of London since 2009, Steve Tamckan, BSc, GCPS, KLJ, KGL, KSG, FCMI, PGDipMgmt, has a distinguished record of service within the City, its Livery Companies and civic organisations.

He served as Clerk to the Worshipful Company of Firefighters from 2014 to 2022 and is a Court Assistant of the Worshipful Company of Upholders. He is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Companies of Basketmakers and Plumbers.

His civic appointments include Ward Beadle for Candlewick Ward, Past Master of Tower Ward Club, Past President of the Ward Beadles Association, Past Officer of the Guidable Manor of Southwark, and Council Member of the City Livery Club. He has also served on the committees of the Cheap and Cripplegate Ward Clubs and the Westminster Branch of the Royal Society of St George.

His honour's include the Grand Cordon of the Royal and Hashemite Order of the Pearl of Sulu, and knighthoods in the Orders of St Lazarus of Jerusalem, the Fleur de Lys and St George. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, and is an Officer of the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or.
